1. Savor Seattle Pike Place Market
Foodies can experience a taste of Seattle by taking a Savor Seattle Food Tour. The tours take place on foot as participants meander through neighborhoods that feature some of Seattle's best culinary delights. One of the more famous points of interest is the original Starbucks store.
2. Seattle Space Needle
The Space Needle offers a stunning view of the entire metro area from 520 feet above the ground. Visitors are granted access to the observation deck and receive a free digital download from the photography department.
3. Mt. Ranier
Visitors who are in Seattle between the months of May and October may tour scenic Mt. Ranier. Participants may choose a tour that is guided and narrated by an experienced guide.
4. Mt. St. Helens
Like Mt. Ranier, Seattle nature lovers may tour Mt. St. Helens to learn more about the famous mountain and its history. Tours are generally available from March to October.
5. San Juan Islands
Individuals who are looking to escape the buildings and pavement in the city may take a cruise to through Puget Sound the San Juan Islands. The islands are known for their large population of whales that draw many spectators every year.
6. Seattle Art Museum
Also known as SAM, the museum operates three facilities: the Olympic Sculpture Museum, which is located on the central waterfront and has free admission, an Asian Art Museum, and its main museum downtown. The entire museum offers free admission the first Thursday of each month.
7. Pike Place Market
Overlooking the waterfront, Pike Place Market is located on Elliott Bay. Shoppers can browse the merchandise of local farmers, merchants, and craft makers. Antique shops, fishmongers, and restaurants may also be found in the area.
8. Pacific Science Center
An independent, non-profit museum, Pacific Science Center occupies eight buildings on the south side of the Seattle Center. In addition to the museum's IMAX theater and permanent exhibits, including the world's largest Laser Dome theater and a planetarium, the center also hosts many traveling exhibits.
9. Benroya Hall
Classical music lovers will appreciate attending a Seattle Symphony Orchestra performance at the venue. The hall is composed of two buildings and a terraced garden that is open to the public.
10. Woodland Park Zoo
The award-winning zoo occupies the western half of Woodland Park. Woodland Park Zoo has the distinction of creating the first immersion habitat with gorillas.
