BUYER BEWARE! Our recent encounter with Sean Tisdall, the owner of Cats Eye Contracting, and his partners was beyond disappointing. Despite paying a premium price for a corner lot in their development, their conduct demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and integrity.
Right from the outset, Sean and his team refused to pave the small gravel road in front of our purchased corner lot. They insisted that we alter our house plans and remove the foundation forms to face the larger, pre-paved road, contrary to the city's policy. The city had explicitly stated that no alternate house plans would be approved due to the unique shape of the corner lot we purchased. Their demands were unreasonable and driven solely by their unwillingness to invest in paving the road.
Months of frustration and delays ensued as we found ourselves caught in a conflict between Sean, his associates, and the city. Eventually, the city had to intervene and mandate the developers to pave the road, resulting in significant setbacks and financial burdens, which we were never compensated for.
To add insult to injury, once our house and landscaping was completed and we requested the return of our $5,000 landscaping deposit, Sean and his partners audaciously stated it would be used to offset the cost of the roadwork. This clear contract violation revealed a total disregard for their obligations, leaving us deeply disappointed.
Their exact words were: "Your deposit has gone towards the 85k extension we never planned or budgeted towards."
I urge anyone considering engaging with Cats Eye Contracting to reconsider. Sean's unethical practices, unfulfilled promises, and lack of professionalism have caused us immense stress, heartache, and financial losses amounting to more than $10,000.
