Elica Health Centers

Recently became eligible for Medi-Cal, but had a lot of problems finding a primary care doctor who would take me. I heard that certain community clinics accept new Medi-Cal patients, so I picked Elica Health Centers on J Street because it is within walking distance to my house. Going to a clinic vs a private practice physician is a bit of an adjustment in that the place isn't quite as put together as my last doctor's office, but the staff seem capable enough, particularly the nurse practitioner that I saw. She was very thorough and seemed to really care about my issues. I felt totally at ease. Also, it was nice not to hear "we don't accept Medi-Cal" one more time.
