Alyshia has extensive experience providing care to seniors in a hospital environment. While working there, she felt there were better ways to provide care to her patients once acute illnesses were treated. Hearing her patients repeatedly say that they wanted to heal at home spurred her to open a Nurse Next Door franchise in Victoria.

Her passion for designing and creating patient-centered senior home care programs stemmed from her experience working with seniors waiting to be placed in long term care. Alyshia saw firsthand how the benefits of receiving in-home care were limitless: simple things like getting up and eating in the dining room with loved ones, enjoying favourite activities and connecting with friends and family can truly make all the difference not only in health but also happiness.

Our Talent is Caring

Alyshia’s team has been caring for Victoria seniors since 2008. Her team has been known for going out of their way to make clients happy but most importantly, they pay special attention to the little details that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s ensuring her clients have their favourite skin care product or meeting special requests such as asking for a Caregiver who speaks a specific language or enjoys a certain hobby, Alyshia’s team finds a way to make it happen.

When Alyshia isn’t busy designing care plans and running the business, she volunteers as the President of the Family Caregiver’s of British Columbia. She also was the chairperson of the Victoria Rotary Valentine’s ball and Silent Auction, which raised over $10,000 for the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health.
