The dress is BEAUTIFUL!!! Could not be happier! I had been searching far and wide for over a year to find the perfect wedding dress, and was so excited to come across Amanda Archer dresses! I'm a plus size bride so she was able to make a custom sized dress for me. The workmanship is beautiful and the dress fits me perfect! Amanda was very quick with replying to my questions and sent swatches and measurement instructions. She only accepts orders based off her collection of designs which was fine by me since she has a great selection to choose from. I recommend her to anyone wanting a custom made modern eco friendly dress. I can't wait until my wedding day to wear this lovely perfect dress!

I was really excited when I found Amanda Archer on Etsy and because she was local I contacted her immediately to see if she was able to make my wedding dress. I was excited and anxious to get the process started (as any girl would be) and brushed off warning signs as personality differences. In my first communication with Amanda I let her know that I have a large chest and wanted to make sure she would have no problem with the design fitting my body type. She assured me she knew what she was doing. After a measurement consultation and a muslin fitting that both lasted a grand total of 10 minutes- I went in to find a dress that was made far to tight on my chest with a pleated design over my bust which not only over emphasized my large chest, but ruffled and poked out at the nipple. When I asked if it could be fixed she threatened to charge me for a whole new dress (something my very tight wedding budget couldn't handle). I walked out looking at pictures of my dress dreading wearing it down the aisle, I called her back and was once again met by hostility- it took me in tears for her tone to soften and an offer to attempt to fix the dress was made. Sadly, at this point, I had no idea that the way I was being treated was not only completely unacceptable for amount I was paying for the service, but also lacked the basic joy, care and excitement every bride should receive when purchasing her wedding dress. I pressed on and went anxiously back for a second fitting to find a dress that would not longer zip and looked like something I tried to make myself. Once the bodice was undone, it was clear the at the fabric was under cut as there was about 2 inches of fabric missing from the bottom of the bodice to the beginning of the waist line. After being bullied and talked down to I realized enough was enough. Even after visible evidence of her error could be seen, she still never took responsibility for half-heartedly making my dress. She blamed my dissatisfaction on unrealistic expectations and "nitpicking." This is an experience I hope no bride has to go though. I'm sure she makes beautiful gowns for women that are a size 0-4, but I would not recommend her for anyone with something other than a model-esk body type, or for anyone who expects a gown to be tailored to their body. The only reason I am giving her 2 stars rather than 1, is because she gave me a full refund (after my "bridesmaid of the year" swooped in and saved the day)- although it has left me with horrible memories and a very short amount of time to find a dress.
