Because there are no guidelines, process art becomes an open-ended, creative and enjoyable experience for children to freely explore their artistic interests - resulting in artwork that is unique and entirely the child’s own. What is project-based art?

Project (or product) based art focuses on a final outcome. The final outcome is similar among all students in the class, with varying changes based on each child’s individual artistic styles and vision. Project based art classes are step-by-step, and involve teaching one or more techniques that children can easily learn and apply to their artwork. Benefits of process art include: Easy way for children to learn and apply specific techniques (ex: drawing, painting) Self confidence Problem Solving Artistic skills Our playgroups and early elementary classes (preschool-1st) generally consists of a more process-based art experience. Our classes for 2nd grade-8th grade students generally are product focuses, however, we do incorporate process art experiences to help each student better explore their creativity without parameters.
