Cutler is an interior design and build firm that specializes in retail interior design and architectural project management. With our full-service approach to project design and management, as well as our detail-oriented, fast-moving staff, we turn our passion for great design into beautiful spaces all over Canada.
Founded in 2009 and led by creative director and interior designer Natalie Cutler, Cutler has completed retail, commercial, and real estate development projects all over Canada for companies of all sizes, taking projects from conception to completion to help our clients achieve their ultimate design goals well, on time, and on-budget.
Cutler offers many services. Our projects are wide-ranging and include construction and associated project management, interior design – commercial, retail, office, and multi-family – architectural design and project management, real estate project management, design consulting, wayfinding, space planning, and tenant improvement, and we help our clients every step along the way. Our planning services include concept and prototype development, branding and signage, feasibility and location site reviews, scheduling and budgeting, and brand integration. In the design and pre-construction stages, Cutler offers site surveying and space planning, 3D renderings, production of detailed interior and construction drawings, millwork, graphics creation, interior merchandising, A/V, security, and point of sale systems, permitting, and vendor selection and management. Finally, as a project reaches construction, we can manage that project as well, ultimately placing the finishing touches and staging your completed design project.
Cutler does things differently. Though we have a small staff, this gives us a major advantage over larger, more corporate design firms: we can act quickly, make decisions, and move a project forward when others may find themselves beset with delays. Unlike other firms, we also understand the nuances and realities of construction. Many firms claim to be able to meet and design to budgetary needs, but we hold to approved budgets and carry these projects to completion entirely. We're also not just passionate about great design; at Cutler, we always show respect to our clients, our colleagues, and our competitors, and we are always looking for ways to build our projects smartly, as safely as possible, and with an eye to the future and an emphasis on environmental responsibility.
In the last seven years, we have overseen development projects for retailers including Samsung, Steve Nash Fitness World, The Body Shop, Ed's Daily, and Joydrop - and won industry awards from the International Council of Shopping Centers in 2013 and 2014 for our work designing Spareparts' flagship stores, growing their audience and in turn their business significantly.
