Slane is a rock music festival held every year, since 1981, on the grounds of Slane Castle, Co Meath Ireland. With a capacity of over 100,000 Slane is one of the largest one day music festivals in all of Europe and has showcased such famous acts as Thin Lizzy, U2, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Oasis and Robbie Williams just to name a few. As a native of Co Meath, Glenda Sansone grew up a stones throw from Slane Castle, and chose to name her NYC bar, Slane to honor these great acts in a wonderful place!
